Get ready to celebrate the holiday spirit in the middle of summer! Walk the Line 5K is now a Christmas in July event, bringing festive fun to this one-of-a-kind 5K. Whether you rock a Santa hat, or just come ready to rock across two states, this race promises a magical midsummer holiday experience!
Walk the Line 5K is part of the Riverwalk Run Series—America’s only 2-state 5K series—which includes:
🎣 Trout Trot 5K (Spring)
🎄 Walk the Line 5K – Christmas in July (Summer)
👣 Bigfoot Boogie 5K (Fall)
🏅 Complete all three and earn the exclusive CHALLENGE MEDAL!
A Festive Course Like No Other
Enjoy a 3.1-mile route through two states, winding through the charming downtowns of McCaysville, GA, and Copperhill, TN. The picturesque course follows the scenic Toccoa River, setting the perfect backdrop for a holiday-themed midsummer evening run. Walkers, strollers, amblers, and even four-legged friends are all welcome!

Each Riverwalk Run Series 5K takes place in the evening, making it an ideal excuse for a cozy cabin getaway. Come for the race, stay for the weekend—shop, dine, and unwind amidst the breathtaking rivers and mountains of Georgia’s beautiful northwest region.
Peachtree Qualifier & Holiday Cheer
Need another great reason to join us? Our 5Ks are Official Peachtree Qualifiers for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race! And for this special Christmas in July edition, expect some holiday surprises along the course!

- Shirt & Bib Pickup: Friday (4:00-6:00 PM) at Burra Burra Riverside Dining and Saturday (3:30-6:15 PM) at the McCaysville Visitor Center
- Weekend Getaway: Make it a weekend! Explore the stunning NorthWest Georgia region, surrounded by mountains and rivers. Enjoy boutique shopping, riverside dining at Riverwalk Shops, and live country music performances at TOONEYS on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Community Impact: The Riverwalk Run Series is organized by the McCaysville Business Association, a non-profit dedicated to fostering economic, cultural, and social growth. Whether you visit for the day or stay in one of the area’s scenic cabins or mountain lodges, there’s something for everyone.
- Activities: Besides the 5K, our region offers rafting, craft beer breweries, hiking, fly fishing, and live music. Parking is free and conveniently located near the finish line at McCaysville’s City Park.

- Parking: Free parking available across from the the McCaysville City Park
- Race Day Registration: Available, unless event sells out
- Water Bottles: Handed out at finish line, please bring your own hydration when walking or running
- Rain or Shine .. event will proceed

- Awards Ceremony at Finish Line, all Finishers receive a medal
- Overall: Female & Male
- Age Group Winners / Female & Male: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
- Start & finish lines are at different places, so race time is based on “gun to chip” (USATF Rule 245)
