Armed Forces Half & First Responders 5K

Welcome to the 2025 event page for the Armed Forces Half and the new First Responders 5K in honor of fallen Sheriff Tobin Bolter, formerly a resident of Pleasant Hill California, struck down in the line of duty in May 2024 while serving as a sheriff in Ada County Idaho. We hope you will join us for a rich event, showing support for all of our military and first responders who have put their life on the line for our well being.

For both events, please be advised that there are significant elevation changes throughout each course. You are advised to do your own research and encouraged to hike/bike/run these or similar courses prior to race day. If you do not train for this, you could be pulled from the course for your own safety. We will have cut off times at each water stop that you will need to achieve. Please refer to the web site for these times.

The Armed Forces Half & First Responders 5K will take place at the beautiful Briones Regional Park-Bear Creek Staging Area. Runners will maneuver the trail system with rolling hills and incredible views. This event will challenge and inspire. The 2025 event is capped at 500 runners for the Half and 500 runners for the 5K.

We will have packet pick up on Friday before the race and a limited packet pick up on the morning of the event before the race starts.

All entrants receive these items:

  • A free parking pass to park at Briones Regional Park. (Does not include pets).
  • A healthy dose of food and drink at the conclusion of the event to enjoy.
  • A custom technical race day shirt
  • A commemorative race day medal given to ALL entrants.
