The Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Event operates over both Private and Public Land.
Continuation of the Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Event absolutely relies on the ongoing generous support of the affected private landowners, who operate working farms.
Competitors and their supporters are advised of the following requirements.
DOGS POLICY
All Dogs are STRICTLY PROHIBITED at the Twizel Hard Labour Event site at Glen Lyon Road. This is where the Mountain Bike and Run/Walk events start and finish. No Dogs are permitted in vehicles at the event site, even if they remain inside a vehicle.
All Dogs are STRICTLY PROHIBITED from following or being alongside a competitor as they complete the Mountain Bike and Run/Walk event courses.
Any competitors that rely on a certified disability assist dog, you must contact the event organisers prior to the event requesting dispensation. Please send an email to twizelhardlabourweekend@gmail.com
Any competitors or their supporters found with a dog at the Glen Lyon Road site, will be asked to leave. There will be no exceptions.
All Dogs MUST be on a LEASH at the Kayak Start at Lake Ruataniwha and at the Kayak Finish at the Ohau C tailrace at Lake Benmore.
PRE EVENT COURSE RECONNAISSANCE AND TRAINING
The Mountain Bike and Run/Walk courses cross Private Land.
These courses are NOT open for reconnaissance and/or training purposes prior to the Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Event.
The Mountain Bike and Run/Walk courses do follow land where Public Easements have been granted and where the Department of Conservation has established tracks. These can be used for training purposes. For more information please go to the Department of Conservation Twizel site for details of Dusky Trail and Pyramid Tracks that can be used for training purposes.
Kayak training is Prohibited in the Meridian Energy Canals.
