Welcome to the final event of our Ontario Season, and our third event at the beautiful Welland Canal. Over the years the Welland Recreational Canal and the Welland International Flatwater Centre have become one of the main focal points of our summer season. We thank the City of Welland along with all the participants of our events for your continued support
Welland Canal Open Water Swim
One of the most iconic open-water swim events of the season, and a part of the Canaqua Sports Open Water Swim Series since 2017. With distances of 1K, 2.5K, 5K, and 15K this event has something for everyone. and is a great way to end off our Ontario season.
Mudskipper Swimrun - Welland
Back for another year
Canaqua Sports has pioneered swimrun in Canada since 2017. the same year we started running our events at the Welland Canal. Knowing this, and with the growth of our swimrun events, who could imagine not having Mudskipper Swimrun-Welland as part of our season-ending event
This flat and fast swimrun features 3.8K of swimming and 7.9K of running in and around the Welland International Flatwater Centre. We can promise one thing. It is harder than it looks.
Come out and challenge yourself and for those of you who have never done a swimrun, come and see what swimrun is all about.

To all you 1K swimmers, we have a special course developed just for you. A 1K loop starting and finishing at the same spot as the longer events. A great way to end the season with a great race

Mudskipper - Welland
Come and join us once again for the Mudskipper SwimRun Welland. This event features a flat run course on both sides of the Canal, and some great swimming in the canal. 
Come and join us for the last chance in 2024 to try out what is one of the fastest growing endurance events in the world!

Welland 15K Ultra Swim
What's old is new again!
Introducing the Welland 15K Ultra Swim
As part of our events, we started a new series called the 15K Ultra Swim Series in 2025 as a longer set of events for those of you looking for something a little longer than the standard 10K event
As this event is our final Ontario event of the season we decided to bring back the 15K distance, making this event a little different from our other Welland events. So come on out and join us for the final event of our Ontario season and give yourself an extra challenge!

Race Info
Location: 16 Townline Tunell Road, Welland, ON L3C 2T4 (Welland Recreational Waterway)
Check-in: At the Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC) in Welland (corner of Townline Tunnel Rd. and Colborne Street)
Awards: An award will be presented to the top finisher in each race.
The Course: See map above. All races finish at the Welland International Flatwater Centre on Townline Tunnel Rd, Welland.
Facilities & Food:
- Washrooms will be available at the Welland International Flatwater Centre
- Food will be provided
- World Class Facility used for the 2015 Pan-Am Games
Race Details:
- Swim caps will be provided for each swimmer and MUST BE WORN for identification purposes during the race
- A number will be inked on upper back/shoulder of each swimmer
- Water temperature at this time of year ranges between 68 – 72 degrees Fahrenheit
- The race is an in-water start and finish
- A time limit will be strictly enforced and any swimmer still racing at this time will be removed from the course (2.5k- 1.5 hours, 5k- 2.5 hours, 10K- 4.5hours)
- Swimmers should not undertake this swim unless they are physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate safely
- There will not be a "rain date" and a delay (or cancellation) would only occur in the event of lightning
