The Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk is a family friendly fundraiser supporting non-profit organizations who help seriously ill children and their families in El Dorado County, CA. Proceeds will now go to New Morning Youth & Family Services, whose mission is to provide quality professional social services to enhance the lives of Western Slope El Dorado County youth and their families. During the pandemic, the need for mental health services for our youth has grown significantly and can be life-threatening. The Spirit of Benny decided to redirect proceeds of the race specifically to counseling services for high risk youth. We hope you will join us in supporting this invaluable local community resource, while enjoying our quaint and lively historic Downtown Placerville.

Race Completion Information
This year The 14th Annual Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk will be LIVE AND we will offer a virtual option for our friends who live out of town. The Live option will be back at the El Dorado Trail in Downtown Placerville between Clay and Main Streets on Saturday March 8th, 2025 @ 9am. Caffe Santoro will be graciously donating their "coffee with personality" a la self serve, and our friends at CRRM will be bringing their friendly smiles with top notch technology to time the race once again. All top 3 male and female finishers will receive an engraved finisher's medal for the live event only. For the virtual option, you are your own race director and can create your very own course and use GPS of your choosing (Garmin, Strava, NRC, Runkeeper, etc...). We will give you from March 8th-16th 2025 to complete a 5K or 10K at your own leisure and then post your results(emails with full posting details will be sent in March). Once your results are posted you will be able to print out your official Finisher's Certificate.

Guaranteed Tech Tee in your size and last day to get your team(minimum of 10) name on the back of the tee, deadline is Friday February 7th, 2025 @ midnight.

Recommended Virtual registration deadline to receive swag bags by March 8th is February 26th 2025 @ midnight. (Please note that if you wish to be guaranteed a tee in your size, you must register by February 7th.)

Online registration deadline for the live event is Monday March 3rd @ midnight.

Packet pick-up on Friday March 7th from 3pm-6pm @ Gold Country Run+Sport in El Dorado Hills Town Center(same day packet pick-up will begin on Race Day @ 8am.)

Same day race registration will be @ 8am on Saturday March 8th, 2025.

Teams

We will still be offering tees with team names on the back. To qualify you MUST have a minimum of 10 participants and all be registered by February 7th, 2025. To enter your team name, the first person to register can type it in under team and then those to register after, simply look for the name on the drop down menu under team.
