The Beneva Mississauga Marathon relies on the support of wonderful volunteers every year. Not only do volunteers help make the race a memorable one for participants, they too are rewarded by the experience. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, experience the excitement of the event and be involved with your community.
Volunteer dates include:
Friday, April 25th - Great Hall, Mississauga Civic Centre
Saturday, April 26th - Great Hall, Mississauga Civic Centre
Sunday, April 27th - RACE DAY - Celebration Square and Lakefront Promenade Park

Information for Potential Volunteers
- Volunteers must be age 16 and older (on-course marshals must be 18+).
- Please read the role description carefully and make note of the date, shift time (if applicable) and location for the role.
- No volunteer orientation required to participate
- All volunteer tasks require standing and/or walking and some heavy lifting.
- Volunteers will receive a short-sleeve shirt to be worn during your shift.
- Light snacks and water/pop will be available.
- To register for more than one role please fill out separate forms.
- Volunteer hours count towards required high school hours and forms will be signed at the end of your shift.

BIB, SHIRT AND RACE KIT DISTRIBUTION - FRIDAY Closed
All of our event participants are required to pick-up their race bib, shirt and race kit over 2 scheduled days prior to race day. This role includes: ▪ Handing out race bibs to participants based on their assigned bib number. ▪ Handing out T-shirts and race kits to participants. ▪ Directing participants and answering questions (i.e. location of washroom facilities, what time the race starts, etc.) ▪Assisting with ensuring that the distribution area is well-maintained. ▪Assisting with set-up, tear-down and clean-up. ▪ Some light lifting and standing is required. Location: Great Hall Civic Centre

FOOD KIT STUFFING - SATURDAY Closed
Each participant receives a "food kit" (which contains pre-packaged food items for participants after the race). These require assembly. This role includes: ▪ Preparing food kits to be distributed to participants. ▪ Ensuring all race kits are prepared with equal materials. ▪ After the food kits have been prepared, assisting breaking down boxes to prepare for recycling. ▪ Some light lifting and standing is required. ▪ This role will take place in a covered tent outside. Location: Celebration Square Time: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
START/FINISH LINE VOLUNTEERS - RACE DAY SUNDAY - CELEBRATION SQUARE Closed
Start/Finish line volunteers will be stationed at the Start/Finish line. This role includes: ▪ Directing and managing the start corral gates. ▪Assisting to maintain the integrity of the of the start area on race day. ▪ Directing participants through the finish chute. ▪ Assisting with water distribution. ▪ Assisting with participant and spectator flow. ▪ Standing and some heavy lifting as needed. Location: Celebration Square Time: 5:45am to 12:00pm
BAGGAGE TENT - RACE DAY SUNDAY - CELEBRATION SQUARE Closed
This role includes: ▪ Receiving participants' bags, storing them numerically according to bib number, and returning bags to participants after they have finished their race. ▪ Assisting with set-up, tear-down, and clean-up. ▪ Some light lifting and standing is required. Location: Celebration Square Time: 5:45am to 12:00pm
WATER STATION VOLUNTEERS - RACE DAY SUNDAY Closed
Water Station volunteers will be stationed at various key points throughout the race course to make sure all participants stay hydrated and have a successful, safe event. This role includes: ▪ Filling cups and distributing them to participants. ▪ Keeping the water station clean and tidy. ▪ Supporting all the runners and walkers. ▪ Setting up their station, tear-down, and clean-up. ▪ This position requires you to be on your feet most of the time. Location: We have several water stations along our course. Your exact location will be determined upon signing up. Time: Approximately 6:00am to 11:00am. Exact times will be determined based on the specific location.
POST RACE FOOD TENT - RACE DAY SUNDAY - CELEBRATION SQUARE Closed
This role includes: ▪ Distributing post-race snacks to participants. ▪ Assisting with setting up the food area, tear-down, and clean-up. ▪ Some light lifting and standing is required. Location: Celebration Square Time: 7:45am to 12:00pm
SHERIDAN COLLEGE COURSE MARSHALS - RACE DAY SUNDAY Closed
Course Marshals will be stationed at various key points throughout the race course to make sure all participants stay on course and have a successful, safe event. This role includes: ▪ Cheering on and directing participants on the course. ▪ Assisting police and traffic management with stopping or re-directing motorists. ▪ Maintaining safety on the course by warning participants of potential hazards and communicating with the public when necessary. All Course Marshals must be 18 years +.
