5km Run for the Frontline

This is a timed 5KM run to honour and support First Responders and Frontline Workers in our community (meaning anyone who supports/helps others such as but not limited to; police, fire, paramedics, corrections, CBSA, dispatch/telecommunications, military/veterans, social workers, CYCPs, nurses, doctors, tow truck drivers, child protection workers, PSWs and many many more. If you are not a first responder or frontline worker, this event is still for you! This is an opportunity to come out and connect with those in the community who spend their life helping others. This race will take place in Canatara Park (starting and ending at the Terry Fox loop) with a scenic run through.

Proceeds from this run will go to charity, and this year another charity that directly supports first responders and frontline workers has been chosen! BOOTS ON THE GROUND (Ontario) (specifically their therapist fund) is the chosen charity for the 2025 proceeds.

There are two distances (5 KM and 1 KM). Don't want to run? That's no problem, you are more than welcome to walk. Service animals and dogs are more than welcome to join along!

1 KM race will start at 10:00 AM promptly - this is a free event for children ages 12 years and under (participation ribbons will be provided).

5 KM race will start at 10:15 AM promptly - any age and ability welcome! All participants in this race will receive a finishers medal and limited edition t-shirt.

**Please note that shirt sizes are only guaranteed to participants who have signed up BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15 (5KM). After this date there will NOT be shirts available.

Race Day Schedule:

There will be a variety of booths/tables set up. Please come early and stay after the run to check these out!

8:15 AM - 9:40 AM - RACE KIT PICK UP (at the Terry Fox loop) **Please ensure that you come early to pick up your race kit and chip (there may be long lines)

9:50 AM - Pre-Race stretch

10:00 AM - 1 KM kids fun run START (12 years and under)

10:15 AM - 5 KM run/walk START

11:00 AM (ish) - Prizes
