My Story…
This summer I am running the Bay of Fundy International Half Marathon, a race that starts in Lubec, Maine, the eastern most town in the United States, and crosses the border to Campobello Island, Canada, and back. I am so excited that this race has returned after a six-year hiatus!
In honor of this beautiful area, I have chosen to raise money for an excellent local organization: the Lubec Area Musicians Philanthropic Society (LAMPS). LAMPS is doing the hard work of keeping the arts vital and available in an economically challenged part of country.
All arts organizations are facing enormous challenges. State and Federal funding, that just a few months ago might have been somewhat reliable, is no longer a given. Small organizations like LAMPS need our support so that they can continue bringing arts education and performance to their corner of Maine.
LAMPS provides admission-free cultural events in the town of Lubec and also raises funds for other local non-profits and charities. They offer educational programs and engage in community outreach.
Their mission is to share a passion for music, to foster connections between local musicians, and to create stronger communities through volunteering and charitable giving. They aim to nurture live local music as well as serve the local communities socially and economically.
I hope you can consider a small donation to help LAMPS continue their mission.
