Welcome to the 2025 Seize the Moment Run for Epilepsy!
This combined 10K, 5K and 1/2-mile fun run is designed to generate interest, awareness and promote education about epilepsy, seizures and SUDEP. To be held on Purple Day® weekend, this run is open to participants of all ages and is completely wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Schedule & Start Times
7:00am - Check-in / Race Day Registration opens
8:15am - Kids 1/2 mile race
8:25am - 10K Run
8:30am - 5K Run & Walk
Courses
All events start and finish at Crocker Park in front of the Crocker Art Museum. The 5K & 10K courses will take runners and walkers on a scenic route through Old Sacramento and along the waterfront. Participants will pass by the Tower Bridge, Delta King Riverboat, California State Railroad Museum and Matsui Waterfront Park.
Parking
Parking is conveniently located at City Lot X at 2nd & N St for $5. Participants can access the parking lot via 3rd St, turning right onto N St (follow parking signs). Additionally, 2 and 3 hour metered street parking surrounding Crocker Park is also available. The quickest way to pay for parking is through the ParkMobile app.
Strollers & Dogs
Strollers are permitted in the race. We just ask that you and your bundle of joy start the race in the back of the pack. No scooters, bikes, skates, skateboards on the course.
Only service dogs are allowed to participate in our event. Unfortunately, all other dogs are not allowed to participate in the run. Sorry to all of our four legged friends.
Post-Race
After the race, enjoy light refreshments and make sure to visit our vendor and sponsor booths
Awards
Awards for the 5K and 10K will be presented in the following categories:
- 1st place overall male and female
- 1st - 3rd place in the following age groups: 1-18, 19 - 34, 35 - 49, 50 - 64, and 65+
Refund Policy
Unfortunately, there are no refunds for all race entries. Due to the expenses (permits, insurance, shirts, bibs, etc.) incurred in advance of the race, we are unable to offer refunds. Please know that any proceeds from the event will provide critical support and programs for the Northern California epilepsy community.
