Late Entries: Late entries subject to track approval - Extra $20 charge will occur.
Entries may be refused:
An entry for a competition may be refused in accordance with the Supplementary Regulations relating to such competition. If an entry is refused, notification of such refusal shall be sent to the entrant so as to arrive within 72 hours of receipt of entry by email using “option- Request a Delivery Receipt” or by Registered mail. Such refusal is final and not subject to appeal.
Entrants must:
• Be holders of a current Speedway Australia racing licence,
• Have the current Formula 500’s Australia Rule/Log Book July 2024 to produce on demand.
• Drivers must be familiar with the above mentioned Rules and Regulations and the Australian
Speedway Racing Rules & Regulations July 2024
• Nominate online and pay the appropriate fee before being accepted.
*The promoter reserves the right to amend or cancel any event should circumstances, in the
opinion of the promoter warrant it.*
All Formula 500 meetings must be approved by the State Formula 500 Association. “No
F500 Race Meeting can be run without the authorisation of the State Formula 500
Association”.
Race Format:
2 x Heats per car – Heat 1 Pill draw, Heat 2 invert, 10 laps.
C main – 8 laps, top 8 transfer.
B main (24 cars max) – 15 laps, top 4 transfer to the A-main.
A Main (24 cars max) – Top 16 or 20 cars qualify directly, 30 laps.
- There are no guaranteed hot laps, however at the venue’s discretion they may allow 3-4 hot laps prior to the commencement of each heat in the first round of heats. This will be advised at the driver’s briefing.
- One of the following format options will be used based on the number of actual signed in competitors which will be determined at the event: 2 rounds of Heats, 1 C- main (if required), 1 B-Main, A-Main
- There will be a maximum of 14 cars in the heat races with each car contesting two.
- The first round of heats will be decided by Pill Draw at the nightly sign in.
- The second round of heats will be inverted from first round heats, with row swaps.
- Grid Draws will be found at Joe’s trailer and posted on FB.
- Prior to going onto the track, it is the Driver's responsibility to check their starting position.
- Each heat will consist of 8 laps or 10-minutes time limited, commencing at the first start attempt from the timing system and at the discretion of the Chief Steward.
- Heat points will decide feature race starting positions. Ties will be separated by the fastest lap from heat racing from the timing system.
- The C-Main will be an eight (8) lap race/12-minute time limited. The top eight cars from the C Main will transfer to one of the B-Mains as follows.
- B-Main will be contested over 15 laps with the top 4 transferring to the A main.
- There will be no reserves for this event.
- The A-Main will be 30 laps/25 minutes time limited and at the discretion of the Chief Steward. The top 16 - 20 cars on points after the heat races will qualify in their points order (car count dependant).
**As per the Australian Speedway Racing Rules and Regulations rule 4.3.1 -
Cars should take up their correct position on the dummy grid ready to race before entering
the track. The Pit Marshall will cross cars over rows to close up any spaces as a result of
scratchings. However once pushed off and on track, if a car is missing from a row then cars
in that same row will move up and fill the gap**
Point Structure:
- Points will be awarded for the qualifying heat races, as per the below table in red.
- Top 14 cars will qualify directly into the A-Main, with the remaining cars transferring from the sub-main races.
- Drop out points will be awarded according to the official timing results, for the heat races.

Prize Money:
- Prize money payouts will be according to official results
- The promoter reserves the right to alter payouts and/or awards
- Drivers will be informed of any alterations at drivers briefing
- All eligible prize money will be paid directly to you nominated bank account within 14 days of the conclusion of this event
- It is the responsibility of the driver to ensure the right bank details have been provided

Race Control:
This meeting will be conducted under the current Formula 500's Australia Inc. Supplementary
Racing Regulations, Australian Speedway Racing Rules and Regulations and these Supplementary Regulations.
Officials and Chief Steward:
Determined at Event Drivers Briefing
Scrutineering:
To be completed upon arrival until one hour before cars enter the track or as per time determined by promoter.
Drivers will need to have with them:
• Your Car - with Engine seal attached - correct Vin Number attached
• Your Speedway Australia Licence
• Your Current Rule Book / Log Book
• The Vehicles Current Log book (in case of non ownership of the vehicle)
• All racing apparel
Sign In:
Drivers must be signed in by 4:00pm on race day with Formula 500s SA club officials
Failure to do so will result in a Rear of Field penalty for all heats.
**If you are unable to meet the sign in time due to circumstances beyond your control please
contact the SA Club Via Facebook messenger**
Results Determined by: Electronic timing Transponders - Manual lap scoring in the event of Electronic Failure. If you do not own a transponder you will need to hire one on the day - Drivers will be liable for lost or damaged hired transponders or any hired transponder not returned.
**Any car not having a working transponder may not be lap scored**
Lap Scoring Numbers
All cars must have clearly visible and easily read numbers on each side of the fuel tank/tail section.
Numbers must also be clearly visible on the outside of the top wing and a clearly visible lap
scoring number to be positioned on upper rear corner on the inside of the left hand side panel.
Minimum number size to be 20cm high x 5cm wide.
Postponement/Cancelation:
In the event of the meeting not being held or fully completed the following criteria will be applied;
- Cancellation of meeting prior to track opening venue or sign-in deadline being reached - No points or payments awarded. Nomination fee will be refunded.
- Cancellation of meeting if first round heats has been completed, no heat points will be awarded, and the prize money is divided across all entered cars evenly.
- Cancellation of meeting if all second-round heats have been completed -Heat points awarded – Prize money will be paid out on points totals.
Other Info:
Scales: All cars are to be weighed at the request of the Chief Steward - Most cases this will be Heat Winner & a Random selected car and the Full podium placings for the feature.
Drivers must go to scales directly after coming off the track. Any Driver that is required and fails to do so immediately after coming off track will be disqualified from that race and give up any points from that race. Drivers will be automatically disqualified if they stop at their race trailer / pit bay before scaling.
It is your duty as a competitor to identify you have been called to scales and follow those
instructions from track day officials.
Fire Extinguishers
Every trailer/transporter must have a fire extinguisher that meets the Speedway Australia
requirements, 2.0kg Dry Chemical Powder extinguisher or greater. Aust Stds 1841.5

Mufflers:
All cars are to be effectively muffled to a maximum of 95DBA. Any car deemed to be exceeding
this limit will be Black Flagged from that race, and if not rectified before next race will be excluded from the event.
Pit Mats/Tarps:
Please note Borderline Speedway require pit mats/tarps to be used in their pit area.
Promotional and Media Engagement:
- As part of your nomination, all drivers will have to engage in various media and promotional activities outlined by the promoter if asked.
- Penalties will apply for those drivers who do not engage in required activities, without fair reason. Deduction in points from this round may be applied at the discretion of the promoter.
- Official Decals - All cars must display the supplied official decals of our major sponsors if supplied to be eligible for any contingency awards or overall prize money that may be offered. Failure to do so will make your team ineligible for contingency prizes and/or prize money from this event and will be applied at the discretion of the promoter.
- All supplied decals must be displayed on the left and right side of the wing or as otherwise directed. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure they have all the correct decals.
