Meet Cassidy: A Champion on and off the Ice

Cassidy is a vibrant 9-year-old with a passion for sports, especially ringette. As a dedicated goalie, she relies on her strength and agility to keep up with the fast-paced game. But behind her determination lies a challenge—Cassidy was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) at just 2 years old.

Despite the hurdles, Cassidy refuses to let JIA define her. With the unwavering support of her family and the incredible community at Cassie + Friends, she continues to chase her dreams. Cassie + Friends is the only charity in Canada dedicated 100% to pediatric rheumatic diseases, offering research, education, connection, and support to families like Cassidy’s. Since 2007, they have raised over $3.2 million to help kids thrive in the face of chronic illness.

On Sunday, June 1st, Cassidy and her family will be participating in the Ottawa Run/Walk, raising funds to support vital research and programs that make a difference in the lives of children battling JIA. Every donation helps bring us closer to a pain-free future for kids.
