Alyssa’s success hasn’t always come easily, but it has been earned with remarkable strength and determination. From a young age, she’s proven that she is capable of more than many could imagine. Despite the challenges of juvenile arthritis, she has faced each hurdle head-on—from injection therapy and physical therapy to making healthy eating and lifestyle choices.

Her journey has shaped her into someone mature beyond her years. At a time when most kids should be carefree, Alyssa has had to confront the painful reality of living with a chronic condition. Waking up with pain is a burden no child should have to bear. But Alyssa shows us every day that strength is not just physical—it's about facing the most difficult moments with resilience and a positive attitude.

Her commitment to sports and physical rehab has been unwavering, even though it requires hours of pre- and post-sport management. There is still much work to be done to ensure kids like Alyssa can stay in the game and continue to pursue their passions. We need to continue the conversation and find better solutions to support their journey.

We are deeply thankful for the amazing support Alyssa has received from organizations like Cassie and Friends, her dedicated care team at CHEO, and the incredible community clinics that have provided care. But the support doesn’t stop there—friends and family have been by her side every step of the way.

Events like these fundraising walks make it possible for kids like Alyssa to continue to thrive despite the pain, and it gives us hope that one day, there will be a cure.
