Volunteer details
Hi Volunteers!
First off, thank you so much for giving your time to Chad's Day for Change. We're so very passionate about this race, and we appreciate your passion as well. The majority of volunteers will be needed on race day, August 9. The first volunteer shifts will be starting at 6am, pre running the legs, making sure the flags are in order from the flagging the day prior. The last shifts will likely end at 7pm, with sweeps and removing flags and tape, start/finish teardown, packup etc. The bulk of the volunteers needed will be 8-4 at start/finish, aid stations and course marshals. We're looking for a few bodies the day before and the day after for marking the course and making sure we've removed every trace of the event on the Sunday.
Please let us know your preferred volunteer position, the times you are available and if there is someone you want to be grouped with. Feel free to grab a friend to register for the same post. If you want, tell us about your strengths, passions, star signs, favorite number, color, song, ok maybe that's a little much but you get the idea.

Lastly, a few of Chad's family have reached out to volunteer for this event, which absolutely means the world. Please if you are family or close friends of Chad that I don't know make sure you mention that as I will be doing my best to keep you guys together to get the most of the event.

Aug 8 Course Marking
Hike one (or more) course Loop(s) using flags (mostly), and chalk and signs (at key turning points) to mark the route.
Aug 8 Race Package Pickup
Set up a table at ##### (site to be confirmed) and hand out race bibs, shirts and other pre-run swag
Aug 9 Dawson Park Aid Station
Organize beverages/snacks table, Record racer bib numbers, communicate with race HQ
Aug 9 Science Park Aid Station
Organize aid station materials, set up beverages/snacks, direct runners, record bib numbers, communicate with Race HQ
Aug 9 Announcer 1 and Announcer 2
Good with a microphone? Like talking to people? Good with music between announcements?
This position is split between morning and afternoon but feel free to sign up for both if you dare!
Aug 9 Race Loop Sweeps
Jog Loop 1 (12k), Loop 2 (12k) and/or Loop 3 (10k) to find any runners still on course.
Aug 9 Race Morning / Afternoon Logistics
Morning:
Use a truck or van to bring tents, tables, chairs and supplies from a Capilano address to Goldbar Park. Help set up the tents, tables and banners by 8am.
Deliver / set up one tent and table at Dawson Park by 9am.
Deliver / set up one tent and 2 tables in Strathcona Science Park (off 17th Avenue) by 10am.
Tear down the tent and table at Dawson Park by 11am.
Afternoon:
Tear down the tent and tables in Strathcona Science Park (off 17th Avenue) by 2pm.
Tear down the tents, tables etc. at Goldbar Park around 4pm.
Deliver tents, tables, supplies etc to a Capilano address.
Aug 9 Race HQ Start Finish
Organize Race HQ, morning-of Race Packages, confirm race #'s, timing and recording, set up aid station drink / food
Aug 9 Course Marker Clearing
Run each leg picking up any remaining flags and other markers on the course.
Drop off at a Capilano address.
