Steve and I are so grateful that Shokria is safe and in college.   And because of her, we cannot forget the countless other young women of Afghanistan - bright, curious, and ambitious - who live under Taliban rule.   

I believe in Ascend's work. Ascend is on the ground in Kabul, working with young women every day and providing a slender lifeline of hope.
