Vineyard Havens gives all-expenses paid vacations to families facing cancer so they can rest, reconnect and make new memories again. It is not just patients who are impacted by cancer. Is is the entire family. This is why our respite weeks away are designed for both the patient and the people who love them: Parents, Spouses, Children, Siblings, and more.
We serve all ages and stages of cancer with over half of our patients under age 18. Vineyard Havens families are unable to afford a trip like this using their own financial resources.
A cancer diagnosis, along with its vigorous treatment protocols, can be traumatic for both patients and caregivers. The American Cancer Society (ACS) estimates that as many as 1 in 4 recent cancer patients have PTSD while caregivers can also develop PTSD. According to the ACS, one study found that almost 1 in 5 families with teenage cancer survivors had a parent with PTSD.

About the race
The Falmouth Road Race was established in 1973 and has become one of the premier running events of the summer season. Each year the race draws an international field of Olympians, elite, and recreational runners out to enjoy the iconic 7-mile seaside course.
