I'm Making My Miles More Meaningful with Team DetermiNation!
Cancer has been a part of my life since I lost my aunt to colorectal cancer since 2002. The next year, my family began a team in her honor at our local Relay for Life, beginning my experience attending and volunteering at ACS Events.
Over the years, unfortunately, I've had a number of additional folks that I volunteer and fundraise in memory of. However, the innovations in the cancer treatment space in this same time frame has been astounding, something I am lucky enough to see both in my professional life as a Human Resources Professional in the Life Sciences industry, and in my personal life, seeing first hand the benefits that these innovative treatments have had on folks who may have had a much bleaker outcome five or ten years ago.
For the last six years, I have had the pleasure of being a part of the GenerationNow Boston chapter, serving as President for the last two years. Our group fundraises for the Boston Hope Lodge, one of a number of facilities across the country that creates a home away from home for cancer patients seeking treatment in the top tier facilities in Boston. This is just one of the arms of ACS you'd be supporting by donating to my RaceRoster profile. By supporting me, my team, and ACS, you're helping to enrich these experiences and maintain these stellar facilities that are provided to these patients free of cost. Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join the American Cancer Society's Team DetermiNation's 2025 ASICS Falmouth Road Race team. Taking part in this iconic and historical road race with DetermiNation gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and impactful services for people going through a cancer diagnosis. I’m also participating to inspire hope for those facing the disease. I hope you’ll consider signing up too or supporting my efforts.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 18.1 million cancer survivors nationwide. 18.1 MILLION. That’s huge.
