Every step I take in the Falmouth Road Race this year represents more than just a run – it’s a step toward giving kids of Dorchester a chance at a brighter future. As I lace up my sneakers and prepare for the challenge of the Falmouth Road Race, I’m running with purpose, to raise funds and awareness for Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester. Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester is Boston’s premier youth development agency, and for half a century has been a place where children ages 2 months to 18 years thrive. With three clubhouses in Dorchester, and a fourth on the way, BGCD is committed to the youth and families of our community. They provide vital support to over 4,000 youth of all abilities who benefit from over 200 programs, which promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, character and leadership development, artistic expression, behavioral health, and social recreation for just $5 a year. By running this race, I am raising funds to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester's mission to always welcome and connect young people and families to opportunities that embrace diversity, nurture growth, and inspire success. Every dollar you donate will help open doors for kids who need it most. As I push through the miles on race day, I’ll be thinking of the children whose lives we can change with your support.
