Join Me in the Race to Prevent Breast Cancer

In 2000, I ran my first Falmouth Road Race at 17-in a total downpour. Since then, this race has become a summer tradition, no matter how hot or humid. But in recent years, it’s taken on a much deeper meaning.

After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer twice—first in 2010 and again in 2019—I realized how critical prevention is. That’s when I got involved with the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC), an organization that focuses on stopping breast cancer before it starts.

In 2020, I learned I carry the BRCA-2 genetic mutation, which put me at a significant risk of developing breast cancer. Last year, I made the life-changing decision to have a preventative double mastectomy to take control of my future.

In 2021, I ran with Team Grateful, raising funds for this incredible cause. And this year, my commitment is stronger than ever.

Now I’m running again (with my cousin Kristen)—not just for me, but for everyone who faces these hard decisions. I’m raising money to ensure that others have the knowledge, support, and resources to make the best choices for their health.
