My Story…
This year I'm running to help create safe, affordable homes for our neighbors on Cape Cod.
As the housing crisis deepens across our region, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod is stepping up. The homes built represent more than shelter — they are a critical step toward stability, dignity, and opportunity for local families on Cape Cod.
Here's more about this important organization:
- Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod has built over 200 homes in 36 years!
- They have constructed homes in all 15 towns on Cape Cod.
- Families purchase homes with an affordable monthly mortgage of $1,000-$1,500.
- A rider on the deed ensures each home remains affordable in perpetuity, creating a sustainable resource.
- Each adult who will live in the home must complete 250 sweat equity hours on their property.
- They are currently building three homes in Dennis and four in Wellfleet, with plans to start building four homes in Falmouth and two in Brewster this fall!
By supporting me in this year’s Falmouth Road Race, you help build futures with homes that provide lasting stability, self-reliance, and a connection to the community.
Here's their website for even more information https://habitatcapecod.org/.
Thank you,
~Moira
