My Story…
I am back running the Falmouth Road Race and fundraising for Empower, an organization near and dear to my heart. This is my favorite race to run, and this will be my first time running since having my son last year
I found Empower many years ago, and I immediately knew I needed to be involved with this incredible organization. Empower works to support young kids and young adults who have lost a parent, something I have first hand experience with. The work they're doing is incredible, and offered at no cost to the kids and young adults in the program. It's also been an opportunity for me to find a community that I could connect with in a way that lets me celebrate and honor my mother's memory, while also having support from those who understand the loss.
Empower has been expanding its mission to support all children of parent loss over the last few years. This is an incredibly exciting time for the organization, and we need your help to fulfill that mission!

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2025 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
