My Story…
CPN is an amazing organization that supports families caring for medically complex children – something our family has repeatedly drawn on over the past five years since Alden was diagnosed with a rare genetic brain malformation.
Funds raised this year will allow CPN to expand content for families and the amazing medical providers by providing insights into the lived experiences of the families and children they care for.
More information about CPN:
Caring for a child with a life-limiting illness is like running a long-distance race. It can be lonely and exhausting. And it is very, very difficult. As with running, with the right support, endurance builds and families become more resilient. With time and guidance, families feel empowered and able to cope with the challenges they face. CPN provides that support and guidance.
CPN is there with families caring for children with life-limiting illnesses as they take that first step into a life they had not imagined; and it is there for them all along the journey that follows – guiding them with insights from other parents who have gone before on issues such as coping with diagnosis, making complex medical decisions, keeping their family strong and coping after the death of their child. CPN is also there with medical providers, giving them important insights into the lived experience of the children and families they care for.
