My Story…
I'm happy to share that I'm running this year's Falmouth Road Race for an amazing organization: The Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC). APCC is a non-profit based in Dennis, MA, and is at the forefront of environmental protection and monitoring on the Cape. I have served on APCC's board since 2018 and am spearheading its inaugural Falmouth Road Race Team on August 17!
For over 55 years, APCC has helped restore natural resources in every town on the Cape. Today, APCC finds itself as the last line of defense against projects or proposals that could threaten such a special place - like the dumping of radioactive wastewater into Cape Cod Bay or the fouling of Cape Cod's sole source aquifer. Yes, I linked those in case you were thinking that there's not a risk of radioactive wastewater being dumped into Cape Cod Bay.
A note on asking for donations: It's not lost on me that so many non-profit organizations are in need during these unprecedented times. While I'd appreciate any/all donations to help me reach my fundraising minimum, please know that I'd also welcome a text or call with good thoughts as I get back into a running groove. You can also sign up for APCC's newsletter to learn more about their work at the bottom of their webpage: www.apcc.org.
