My Story…

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page :) For those of you who may not know me, my name is Samantha Patalano (Sam) and I just completed my doctoral degree in the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Biochemistry program at Boston University!. I currently live in Winchester, MA, but I spend a lot of time down the Cape visiting my dad and stepmom (full-time Falmouth residents) as well as my in-laws (Hyannis summer residents). My dad owns the local NAPA Auto Parts stores in Falmouth, Mashpee, and Hyannis and it gives him great joy to donate to local charities, such as Tommy's Place. Therefore, I hope to follow in his footsteps and help raise money for Tommy's Place by running on their team again this year for the 2025 Falmouth Road Race! Any donations for this wonderful charity would be much appreciated.

Tommy's Place Provides Over 100 Free Vacations Per Year on Cape Cod!

Tommy's Place owns and operates two 10+ bedroom year-round magical vacation homes for kids fighting cancer.  The homes are located in Falmouth and Centerville on Cape Cod. One family at a time, along with their extended family and friends, visits for a one week, free of charge, dream vacation to relax, make memories and most importantly have FUN!

Tommy's Place homes are equipped with inground swimming pools, game rooms, movie theatres, home taverns, arts + crafts rooms, music rooms, chef's kitchens, and much, much more.  A magical experience for the entire family! 
 
Since opening in July of 2021, nearly 300 families have vacationed at one of the Tommy's Place homes. In 2024, Tommy's Place began offering 104 magical vacations per year at its two vacation homes. Tommy's Place receives guest referrals from 11 New England children's hospitals and all families are placed through a lottery system. Guests are aged 3-17, actively being treated for pediatric cancer, and living permanently and full-time in New England.
