My Story…
As parents and coaches of girl athletes, we know the important role physical activity and teamwork play in helping build self-esteem, mental health, and community. Girls on the Run ensures that all girls in late elementary and middle school can access proven programming to support them in creating resilience, health, and wellness thru physical, social, and emotional learning.
Help us ensure that this critical work can expand across Greater Boston, so all girls can reach their full potential!
Description
Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Through GOTR's program, trained coaches implement the research-based curriculum that builds lifelong healthy habits. Girls learn the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of physical activity, as well as tools for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Each season concludes with a 5K event where the girls run at their own pace, giving them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
