OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!

In December 2021, our world changed forever when our mom was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

ALS is a relentless, progressive disease with no known cure that slowly robs a person of their ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe.

Our mom met this cruel diagnosis with unimaginable strength. She fought with everything she had, holding on to her grace, her compassion for others and her deep love for her family. On November 19, 2023, we lost her to this merciless disease.

Throughout that journey, our lives were completely upended—but we weren’t alone. Thanks to the incredible support of organizations that ALS One partners with, like CCALS and ALS TDI, we were able to take care of  our mother at home and communicate with her for as long as possible. They provided vital equipment and support—always free of charge—and gave us the tools care for her with dignity.

Now, we’re running the Falmouth Road Race in her honor. It’s our way of giving back to ALS One and continuing our mom’s legacy of helping others. She was the kind of person who always elevated those around her and supported anyone in need.

If you’re able, please consider supporting our run. Your donation helps ALS One bring compassion, care, and research to more families like ours.

With love and gratitude,

Jess Hajjar, Koury Hajjar, Matt Parlon & Charlie Parlon
