OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!
This year, on August 17th, I have the opportunity to run the Falmouth Road Race for the first time, in honor of my best friend’s mom, Dawn Parlon. I will be running for ALS ONE to drive awareness, raise money for research, and get steps closer to a cure.
Dawn fought ALS with unwavering strength. In November 2023, we heartbreakingly lost her to this relentless disease.
Dawn was not only a devoted wife and mother of three but also the heart of her family. Her only daughter, Jess, is my beautiful best friend. Now a mother of two herself, Jess has had to navigate the early years of motherhood without her own mom by her side, someone who can never be replaced. Watching my best friend follow in her mother’s footsteps as an incredible mother to her two children, without the love and support of her own mother, their grandmother, is an extraordinary kind of strength.
We all wish Dawn was here with us today. With ALS ONE, we're carrying her legacy and love forward. I'm running for the person that Dawn was, and the monumental impact she had on everyone who knew her. Please, consider donating so we can help fund the research to find a cure.
