Welcome to the Unbreakable Brooks fundraising page! Our team is eight runners strong including Josh Brooks, Elizabeth Brooks, Justine Achille, Chris Hogan, Ava O’Donnell, Wyman Brooks Jr (Josh’s dad), Wyman Brooks III (Josh’s brother), Nancy Adams and John Adams.
To support our team and the mission of the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) our team is running to raise awareness and funds for brain cancer research.
In 2023 Josh was diagnosed with a grade 3 Oligodendroglioma following a grand mal seizure and brain surgery to remove the discovered tumor. Subsequently Josh began a daily medication, Vorasidenib, to suppress further tumor growth.
In January of 2025 that medication stopped working when an MRI showed tumor growth. His medical team switch treatments to radiation and chemotherapy.
Josh completed radiation therapy on April 1st and is projected to complete six rounds of chemotherapy (Lomustine and Procarbazine). Josh's treatments, if well tolerated, will end in January 2026.
Josh keeps active despite his diagnosis and is joined this year by eight runners. Elizabeth and Josh ran this race last year to raise funds for the NBTS (over $7,000!). Thank you to everyone who donated last year, our community keeps us strong <3
