Help Jesse raise money

Hi,

Supporting children in foster care to find permanency with forever families is near and dear to my heart.  Both of our children were placed with Peter and I for adoption after having been in foster care.  Jasmine, who is now almost ten, joined the family when she was two and a half and was adopted at three.  Malachi, our newer addition as of August last year, is six.  We are currently waiting on an adoption date to formalize us as his forever family. In the meantime, we, like many others navigating the adoption process, are his pre-adoptive foster family.

I could not think of a more deserving charity to support.  Children in foster care have been through unimaginable experiences, and at such young ages. In tough times, we lean on our closest family and friends to help get us through. But for these children, this is typically not an option. MARE's support to help these children at the worst part of their lives can be lifesaving; especially for teens and those with specific needs who oftentimes linger in the foster care system longer.

It was at one of MARE's information and matching events nearly ten years ago that we started our adoption journey and met our social worker.  As a couple looking into adoption, we had many questions and MARE opened the doors to those conversations, helping start our adoption journeys.  Since then, we have attended many MARE adoption events which have also had a positive impact on Jasmine's understanding of the foster care/adoption process, allowing her to process her feelings and emotions and ask questions that have helped her process the events of her childhood.
