My Story…
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 4 months (and honestly I wouldn't blame you), you already know it is a moment of reckoning for nonprofit work. Corporations are clawing back pledges and cleansing their collective memory of racial equity focused initiatives, the federal government is waging an all out war on DEI-focused funding, and organizations across the country are being faced with a very clear and simple threat: "Change your mission or cease to exist".
Since 2020, you all helped me raise almost $15,000 to support CfJJ in the face of insurmountable challenges. We are here again - the threat is real, the stakes are even higher, and your support is more important than it has ever been. The sector quite literally cannot afford to not receive your support this year. Let's hit that $5,000 mark.
Read on below if you want to know more about CfJJ and how your $10 donation supports the fight to enact systemic change for systems involved young men and women.
I have the honor of serving on the board of Citizens for Juvenile Justice- the only independent, non-profit, statewide organization working exclusively to improve the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts. We advocate, build coalitions, conduct research, and educate the public on important juvenile justice issues. CfJJ's dedicated staff are on the front lines of legislative Criminal Justice Reform in Massachusetts, and your continued support enables them to enact measurable, tangible legislative change. Thank you!
