My Story…
Will and Ryann continue to be my WHY. Why I wake up in the morning, why I choose to fight congenital heart disease, why I run at crazy hours of the day in crazy weather conditions and why we need to find a damn cure.
October 14, 2013 may have been a typical Monday, Columbus Day for many but for Bill and I it was “D day”. Diagnosis day. I don’t think any CHD parent will ever for get that day. The day was full of so many unknowns. I’ll spare the details of ugly (pregnant) crying. That was the last of the ugly crying.
I took CHD head on and since then Will hasn’t stopped fighting. He’s a pretty typical 11 year old boy. He is hockey and lacrosse obsessed. He dabbles in basketball and any other sport he can get his hands on. He loves tossing the football at the bus stop in shorts, no matter the weather. This boy of mine has a heart of gold. He’s caring, kind, well mannered, a great friend and a super snuggler. He’s the best little brother Ryann could ask for and she too has taken CHD by storm. She always includes Will when she is hanging out with her friends. She never misses an opportunity to do Will’s hair or makeup (she pays him, he’s no fool!) and she’ll even let him in her bed at night.
Will’s journey will never be done. He will never have a normal heart and he will always have to take daily medications for his heart health.
Please help me kick CHD A&$ and get to my goal of raising $2,500. Thank you ❤️
