My Story…
This year, I’m proud to run the Falmouth Road Race for the first time—and even more proud to do it in support of We Are Empower.
I’m running in honor of my dear friend Ann Marie, who lost her mother at a young age. Despite this profound loss, Ann Marie has become one of the most genuine, kind-hearted, and hardworking people I know. Her strength and resilience continue to inspire me every day, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.
When she introduced me to We Are Empower, I immediately felt moved by their mission. The organization provides meaningful support to young children, teens and young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent—helping them navigate life with the guidance, mentorship, and community everyone deserves.
I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to take on this race for the first time, but knowing I’m running for a cause this close to my heart makes it all the more meaningful. Thank you so much for your support!

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2025 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
