My Story…
Thank you for visiting my page in support of the Falmouth Road Race!
As many of you know, I'm not an avid runner—but after watching my sister complete the Boston Marathon this April, I was completely inspired. Inspired to lace up my own sneakers, to start training, and to run for a cause close to my heart: the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.
In 2020, my father survived a devastating rollover car crash that left him with a traumatic brain injury, a broken neck, and a broken nose. He spent ten days in a coma. Ten days of holding our breath. Ten days of uncertainty. Then, one day, he opened his eyes—and we began a new journey together. My dad was transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation, where he relearned how to think, walk, and engage in the most basic brain exercises. Watching him fight for his recovery was both heartbreaking and inspiring. His brain injury changed our lives forever—but it also brought our family closer than ever. My sister and I developed a fierce protectiveness of him.
I run for every family who has ever held a loved one’s hand in a hospital bed, praying for a sign of life. I run for everyone impacted by a brain injury, fighting to regain their strength. I am beyond grateful that my dad is still here with us—he is my reason, my inspiration, and my reminder of how precious life truly is.
