Help Julia raise money

I will be running the Falmouth Road Race this summer with the New England Donor Services team whose cause resonates close to me.

In 2019, my father was diagnosed with Cirrhosis and was told that he would need a liver transplant. Over the next two years, his health steadily declined, and he was in and out of the hospital. I was only 15 to 17 years old at the time, and watching him suffer was one of the hardest experiences of my life.

Every day, we clung to hope. We prayed for the phone call that could save his life—a call telling us a liver was available. But that call never came.

In the summer of 2021, my dad developed a serious infection. Within a week, his body couldn’t fight anymore. On the night of July 14th, 2021, he passed away.

He never got to see me graduate high school. He won’t be there for so many milestones—college, my first job, maybe even my wedding one day. But I carry him with me in everything I do, and I know he’s still cheering me on.

I’m running this race in memory of my dad—and as a proud member of the NEDS' team—to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation. I want to help give other families the chance at the miracle we never received.
