My dad was an amazing husband, father, uncle, and brother. He was a light in everyone's lives. He took every chance to crack a joke, no matter how bad it was. He passionately challenged opinions. He loved music more than anyone. He worked endlessly and never once complained. He was the absolute best story teller. Most importantly, he brought so many smiles to the faces of his friends, family, and strangers.

After suffering a major stroke in 2023, my dad made a miraculous physical recovery. However, we did not realize the lasting mental challenges it left on him. About a year later, my dad took his own life. Dealing with this kind of grief is something I never anticipated. It left me and many of my dad's loved ones with so many questions. While these questions may go unanswered, I hope to prevent even just one family from going through the same.

In the wake of his death, I found a new love for running. It has helped me to channel my grief into something positive that I know my dad would be proud of. I am so excited to be able to pair my new found love for running with an amazing organization, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). AFSP is on a mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. This cause is close to my heart, and every donation—big or small—helps fund critical research, education, advocacy, and support for those in need.

If you're able, please consider making a contribution. Together, we can make a difference.
