My Story…
Running for a Reason: My Falmouth Road Race Journey
This summer, I'm lacing up my sneakers and running the Falmouth Road Race to support the UMass Memorial Cancer Center-a place that means more to me than words can ever fully express.
My cancer journey began unexpectedly at the age of 27, when I was diagnosed with melanoma. At the time, I never imagined I’d face another battle. But in September 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, a neuroendocrine tumor. Just weeks later, I underwent a partial distal pancreatectomy at UMass Memorial, where I also work. This time, I wasn’t just a provider, I was a patient.
Thanks to the expert, compassionate care I received, I’m not just surviving—I’m thriving. I’m running this race as a celebration of resilience, and as a way to give back to the place that saved my life.
Every dollar raised goes directly to the UMass Memorial Cancer Center to support cutting-edge research, patient care, and hope for others like me.
Thank you for supporting my journey and this incredible cause. 💜
