Help david raise money

I am running this race to honor my father, Martin Arkowitz, who died earlier this month.  My father was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia (LBD) about 8 years ago and was cared for in a facility the past 3 years.  Although LDB is not Alzheimer's, it is a similar debilitating progressive neurological disorder.  My father had been a mathematics professor at Dartmouth College for almost 50 years.   He earned his bachelor's degree from Columbia University and his doctorate from Cornell University.  He devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and his joy of mathematics.  

The rapid advancement and unrelenting devastation from LBD was heart-wrenching.  Over the past 3 years my father was a mere shell of his previous self -- unable to recognize his family, have basic conversations, and understand simple arithmetic.

We all miss my father deeply and remember him as the vibrant and caring person he was before this horrendous disease took hold of him.  I am running this for him and to help in any way I can to find much needed solutions to Alzheimer's and other types of dementia.
