Help Amy raise money

I’m running the Falmouth Road Race in memory of my father, George, who passed away at 68 from complications related to early onset Alzheimer’s. My dad was a wild, free spirit who lived life on his own terms. He wasn’t always present in the ways we might have hoped growing up, but later in life, he became a devoted and loving grandfather to his 15 grandchildren—a role he embraced wholeheartedly.

My sisters and I were robbed of the chance to reconnect with him fully, to create new memories, and to experience the man he was becoming before Alzheimer’s took him from us too soon. This run is for him—for his memory, for the stories left untold, and for the families who are still fighting this devastating disease. 

Losing him to Alzheimer’s was like watching someone drift away piece by piece and one of the hardest things I’ve had to endure. It felt like I lost him twice. Once to the disease and again when he passed.

His story matters. His life mattered. And through this run I hope to honor that. Running this race is my way of remembering him fully—his laughter, his flaws, his fire. I run with love, with grief, with gratitude—and for George.
