FULL CIRCLE
I’ve told the story before, when I was a child, Mass Eye & Ear saved my life. Never would I imagine my story would come full circle.
This year, my 5 year old, Bryce was diagnosed with significant hearing loss due to a Chloseotoma in his right ear.
What started as failed hearing tests quickly spiraled into a series or urgent appointments and it was important for him to have surgery quickly.
The longest day of my life (well one of many thanks Tate) came - 6 hours of surgery for B. When the Doctor finally came out we learned the Chloseotoma was large, they had to remove all his hearing bones, reconstruct his eardrum and open up behind his ear/head to clean out a scary infection. And resulted in complete hearing loss in his right ear.
Kids are funny, they adapt so well. No one could tell anything was wrong and he just continues on being Bryce.
To show my overwhelming gratitude for all they have done. I am running (yet again!) the Falmouth for Mass Eye and Ear. Bryce’s journey isn’t over, we have more surgeries scheduled to try to restore his hearing and he will be followed for his lifetime. But because of Mass Eye and Ear and their quick response his future his filled with so much possibilities!
