My Story
As a longtime runner and outdoor enthusiast, I have been warned countless times of the dangers I face and precautions to take when adventuring, especially alone. While I love my Bates Run Club community, I also train alone. I keep my phone location “on” and tell friends where I go, timing my runs with the sunlight. But that shouldn't be the case, and more women should feel safe outside. Please consider donating to support my run in the Falmouth Road Race to benefit the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation, which provides educational programs and self defense workshops to protect women. Thank you for any contributions.
Description
Every 68 seconds, someone in the U.S. is assaulted.
Please support my charity run for the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation. Together, we can help create a safer world. The Foundation works to decrease objectification and violence, and to promote safety awareness and gender equality. It furthers its mission of empowering women to live boldly and fearlessly by providing vital resources, personal safety training and educational opportunities, as well as through partnerships with like-minded organizations to address the root causes of violence against women.
