Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Falmouth Road Race on August 17, 2025! 

I am running to support Boston Cares, where I previously served as an Associate Board Member and was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Leadership award in 2019. When I first moved to Boston, Boston Cares gave me a sense of purpose and community as I learned more about the unique needs and support systems that created opportunity for Boston's diverse population. I wrote college essays with first generation immigrants, organized school libraries that had been defunct for years, and fulfilled orders at a social enterprise book store that provided employment and resources for youth that were court involved or unhoused. I cooked and served lunch at a women's resource center and wrapped birthday gifts for kids that would celebrate in shelters. 

At a time when communities are being divided and difference is seen as a threat rather than a compliment, I am eager to return to these experiences and encourage others to do the same! Boston Cares touches so many important issue areas:

Are you dismayed by inhumane treatment of immigrants? Boston Cares has long standing leadership through its Allies for Immigrants Corps. 

Worried about how families will manage food insecurity with budget cuts? Boston Cares supports many, many local food banks and shelters like Womens Lunch Place, Boston Living Center, Pine Street Inn, and many more. 

Concerned that climate change progress is out of reach? Boston Cares supports urban greening projects on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Shawmut Gardens and Emerald Necklace.

Shocked by the child care crisis for both families and providers? Boston Cares helps bridge administrative and volunteer needs at Ellis Early Learning.
