Our story…
Since 1953, Camp Jabberwocky has provided kids and adults with disabilities a magical summer camp experience on Martha’s Vineyard. Campers take part in activities they might not otherwise experience without the support of their counselors and your generosity. We enrich the lives of our campers and share the joys of the Island in a supportive environment which promotes independence, belonging, friendship, and adventure!
One of the incredibly unique aspects of Camp Jabberwocky, is that we are almost entirely volunteer-run. Over 165 volunteers serve in roles such as cooks, medical staff, administrative support, program leaders, art teachers, and our incredible direct-care counselors. Our unique model of a 1:1 camper-to-counselor ratio ensures that every camper receives personal attention while safely enjoying a wonderful summer with a community of their peers.
We rely on the generosity of many to make Camp Jabberwocky possible each summer. While all our counselors are volunteers, we must fundraise each year to cover expenses such as insurance, food costs, medical staff and supplies, transportation, and activities.
