Rosy Rhubarb Walk/Run 2025

The Fingal/Shedden Optimist is hosting their Second Annual Rosy Rhubarb Walk and/or Run on Sunday June 8, 2025, in celebration and support of events in our community. You can register for the 5km Run or Walk or you can register for the 10km run. Kids 12 and under can register for the 1km Fun Run!! Finisher medals for all participants.

Parking :

Please park at the soccer fields located at 9210 Union road Shedden . Because of current construction you can only access Corsley park off union road South of the fields. If coming from St Thomas on highway 3 / London please take John Wise Line - Fingal line - Union road.

It’s imperative that those participating in the 5km run or walk, and the 10km run have completed their registration and check in by 8:30am as roads will start to close. Registration for the kids 1km fun run will begin around 10:45am (registration between 10:15am and 10:30am) when the 5km and 10km is complete.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT UNION ROAD WILL BE CLOSED (FROM THE SOUTH) FROM 8:45 UNTIL 11:00 (OR UNTIL THE LAST RUNNER/WALKER CROSSES THE FINISH LINE). THE SECONDARY ROAD CLOSURE IS FROM TALBOT LINE (HIGHWAY 3) AT UNION ROAD HEADING SOUTH. THIS ROAD CLOSURE IS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AND PERMANENT AND WILL NOT OPEN.

ANY PARTICIPANT WHO IS DELAYED IN ARRIVING FOR ANY RACE DISTANCE IS ASKED TO ENTER VIA HIGHWAY 3 AT THE KEYSTONE COMPLEX AND PARK AT THE VERY BACK BY THE BARNS AND THEN WALK THE TRAIL TO THE START LINE.


Timeline of events - Sunday June 8th 2025

7:30am to 8:30am Registration & Bib Pick-Up
8:45am to 8:55am Warm Up / Welcome / Land Acknowledgment / O'Canada
9:00am 10km Runners Start
9:10am 5km Runners and Walkers Start
10:30am Registration for 1km will open
1km Kids Fun Run to Begin when 5km and 10km Event Completed.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

St. John’s Ambulance will be on-site.

There will be 3 water stations along the route (2.5 km, 5km, 7.5km). Each water station will offer water and Gatorade for hydration.

First Aid Kits will be available at the 5km Turnaround and the 10k Turnaround.
