My Story…
A lot of you have shared warm thoughts and prayers for our family over the last year and we are so grateful for that and from the bottom of my heart WE THANK YOU. I am not normally one to share fundraising opportunities (or run 5ks) but this one is really close to my heart.
Our daughter Lauren Cate was born last June with a Congenital Heart Defect. I spent half of my maternity leave driving almost an hour back and forth to the hospital every day during Lauren Cate’s stay post-open heart surgery. In August, Lauren Cate came home over a month old with oxygen tanks and several medications. Since then, she has only made positive progress and she is thriving! She is our chubby cheeked little warrior.
But a big part of easing back into a new normal with peace of mind for families affected by CHD is possible thanks to programs like the HEARTest Yard. The HEARTest Yard is a is a program under Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, which supports families of children with congenital heart disease with in-home nursing care and comprehensive medical services at The HEARTest Yard Congenital Heart Center.
They do this at no cost to the families- that is why this is such a great program, and why families like ours are so grateful to support it!
Donate to help Alicia raise money for HEARTest Yard + Showmars 5K’s fundraising campaign.
