Honoring the memory of Big Bill Robinson, the co-founder of Fit2Run, and father of President Parks Robinson, The Big Bill Foundation was founded in 2020.
Bill Robinson, who partnered with Manatee County in the late 2000s to turn 487 acres of rehabilitated farmland into the hiking trails and mangrove habitats in northwest Bradenton now known as Robinson Preserve, passed in 2020, following a hard-fought battle with leukemia at the age of 70. The Big Bill Foundation was created to honor the legacy of Bill, who loved running, surfing, going for long walks outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Bill was one of the original board members of the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, SANCA (currently Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy), and served as chairman from 2014–18. He dedicated countless hours of service to make SANCA and Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy a success.
Bill’s passion for sports, the community and his family was evident to anyone who spent time with him. Bill Robinson was a great leader and mentor, who had a natural gift to inspire and motivate.
The Big Bill Foundation has the privilege of providing scholarships to those who have survived or are currently battling childhood cancer. To date, over $75,000 in scholarships have helped change the lives of those in need.

All awards must be picked-up on race day! If award is not picked up on race day, you may email fit2time@fit2run.com and schedule a mutual date/time to pick-up your award from the Fit2Run Corporate Office at 311 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, Fl 34205. Unfortunately, we are unable to mail awards at this time. Physical awards not picked up within 2 weeks from race date will be forfeited.
Can Someone Else Pick-Up My Race Packet?
Yes! Please provide the individual picking up your race packet with your information, but most importantly, your permission to do so. Once a race packet has been picked up for an individual, we cannot issue you a new race number.
Are Dogs/Strollers Allowed?
Yes! If you have a dog or a stroller, please start in the back of the start corral. Children in strollers do not need to be registered, but must remain in their stroller for the entirety of the race.
My Shirt Doesn't Fit, May I Exchange It?
We give everyone the shirt size they registered for - No Exceptions. If you would prefer a different size, please bring your shirt to the orange Big Bill Foundation tent and after everyone else has picked it up, you may exchange it for any other available size. At that point in time, you may also purchase any available shirts for $15 each.
My Child is Signed Up For The 5K, Can They Run the Kids Dash?
Yes! But if they are only signed up for the Kids Dash, you would need to purchase a registration for them to do the 5K.
When Will Any Shoe Winners Be Announced?
Any shoe winners will be announced during the post-party ceremony.
What Do I Do If I Misplace My Race Bib?
Please go directly to the Information Tent/Registration Tent and we will gladly cancel your misplaced bib number and issue you a new one.
Can I Purchase Additional Food & Beverage Tickets?
Yes! Please go to the Information Tent/Registration Tent to pick-up your additional food and/or beverage tickets if it is before the race. Once the race begins, you can get them from the ticket table next to the Beer Truck. You can either purchase them online and show your receipt/confirmation, or pay with cash. They are $5 each.
I signed up for the Virtual race; when will I receive my virtual race packet?
After the race and after you upload your time to Race Roster, we will be mailing out virtual race packets. If you have not received your virtual race packet, it is most likely because you haven’t uploaded your time. You must upload your time to Race Roster within (1) week following the race date or you will not receive your virtual race packet.
How do I upload my time?
Look out for an email on how to upload your time to Race Roster! You can even upload your route, if you'd like!
Participant safety is our number one priority, so please make sure to listen to all announcements made by the DJ and race staff. Please keep headphones at low volume for your safety and that of those around you. If you have a medical emergency, please notify a Fit2Time team member or Volunteer immediately.
We value runner safety. In the event of severe weather conditions, the director(s) reserve the right to cancel the race for the safety of its participants. Registrations cancelled due to inclement weather will not be refunded, but instead used to cover event costs, with the balance being treated as a charitable donation to the event beneficiary.
Conditions that may result in event cancellation include (but are not limited to): lightning, high winds, flooding, fires, and other acts of God.
Pre-race cancellations for extenuating circumstances will be dealt with on a case by case basis. All cancellations are subject to a $5 service fee per transaction, as well as the original processing fee paid. All requests for cancellations and refunds must be received at least 14 days prior to race day to be considered. Thank you for understanding.
