JOIN OUR 2026 PITTSBURGH DETERMINATION TEAM!

DetermiNation is the American Cancer Society’s event endurance program, spanning a variety of sports including cycling, running, hiking, yoga, and more. The collective efforts of the dedicated athletes who use their fortitude to help raise funds to take down cancer are nothing short of amazing.

Join DetermiNation and you’re not just participating in an endurance event. You’re pushing yourself to help save lives from cancer. Just like hard work goes into your event training, the American Cancer Society gives our all through things like breakthrough research, a 24/7 cancer helpline, and free rides to chemo. Together, we’ll tackle every course, rally every community, and stay absolutely relentless in the fight against cancer.

All DetermiNation athletes receive the following benefits:

Monthly group runs & online coaching
Access to private Facebook group to bond with teammates
An inspiring (and delicious) pre-race team get-together to celebrate your accomplishments.
Awards for top fundraisers

The individual fundraising minimums for 2026 are:

Full Marathon - $500
Half Marathon - $400

Back Half marathon - $800
Relay Team - $1,000 ($200/person)

4-mile Fitness Challenge -$200
5k - $150

Champions Mile - $50
Kids Marathon - $50
Toddler Trot - $50
Pet Walk - $50

All runners will receive a DetermiNation running singlet once they reach 50% of their fundraising goal.

Runners who raise over $5,000 will receive their choice of one of our National Pacesetter Incentives from the American Cancer Society. These incentives include your choice of a DetermiNation-branded cooler bag, Men's or Women's Fleece or Tumbler.
