Run for the Trees  

The Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Holden Arboretum connect people with the beauty, wonder, and value of plants and trees, inspiring action for healthy communities. Together, we are Holden Forests & Gardens (HF&G).  

But it’s tough to be a tree right now. Climate change, invasive pests, new diseases, and compacted urban soils are putting enormous pressure on our forests. Protecting them takes science, community, and people who care enough to act. 

That’s why Team HF&G is running for the trees. We’re inviting runners and walkers to join us as Tree Champions in the Cleveland Marathon, because who has more resilience, endurance, and heart than you? 

You’re in tune with nature, connected to it. You feel the rhythm and notice the changes in every season. The trees are your champions, marking your progress and waving you on. With your help, HF&G can continue research, conservation, and community education programs that save native trees, restore our forests, protect wildlife habitats, and strengthen biodiversity. 

When you run with Team HF&G, you're helping build a greater Cleveland where every child, family, and community member can experience the healing power of nature.
