My Story…
Why I Run: 22nd Annual Pat’s Run
I left the United States Marine Corps in 2004, but like many veterans, I didn’t leave everything behind. I’ve lived with PTSD for years and struggled with passive suicidal ideations—quietly and alone secretly from the world but that will be no more, these quite persistent thoughts don’t always show on the outside but weigh heavily. Not every hour, not even every day, but the thoughts do still show their ugly heads at times.
This year, I’m running the 22nd Annual Pat’s Run in honor of the 22 veterans who lose their battle with suicide each day. That number isn’t just a statistic—it represents brothers and sisters who once stood where I stand now, fighting invisible battles long after their service ended.
While I run to remember the 22, my fundraising directly supports the Pat Tillman Foundation. Pat Tillman’s legacy lives on through leadership, service, and purpose beyond self. The Foundation empowers veterans, service members, and military spouses through education, community, and opportunities—helping them continue to lead, serve, and thrive.
This run has become deeply personal after running for the first time last year. Every mile is a commitment to keep moving forward and a reminder that strength isn’t silence—it’s choosing connection over isolation, purpose over despair, and hope over hopelessness.
Your support can make a real difference. Please consider donating $22 in honor of the 22 veterans we lose each day. If you’re able to give more—$44, $66, or any amount that’s meaningful to you even just .22 adds up—your contribution will help the Pat Tillman Foundation continue building leaders and providing life-changing support within the military and veteran community.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page still matters. Awareness saves lives, and no veteran should feel forgotten or alone.
I run to honor the fallen.
I run to support those still fighting.
And I run so that remembrance turns into action.
Please donate today—and help carry this mission forward. Thank you for standing with me.
