Rules: Because harness dog sports involve more than human athletes, our rules for participants incorporate more than the expected rules to ensure fair competition. These rules also address factors that can impact the health and safety of our canine and human teammates - things like the age of the dog for competition, sport-specific gear requirements for humans and dogs, trail rules (such as passing), and good sportsmanship.
All participants must review and adhere to the following documents prior to race day:
- MAHDS Rules for Participants
- MAHDS Code of Conduct
RACE MEETINGS: There will be no in-person race briefings. All important information such as start lists, course routes, etc. will be conveyed in advance via the Facebook Event or Race Roster. Start lists and course maps will be posted on site.
INSURANCE: This event is sanctioned and insured under the Maritime Association of Harness Dog Sports ("MAHDS").
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ATHLETES: The MAHDS Code of Conduct must be adhered to by all athletes.
TEMPERATURE: We will be applying MAHDS Temperature Guidelines for this event. These guidelines lay out exactly what you can expect in terms of the Event Organizer's response to temperature changes.

Course Description:
The route is primarily crusher dust with some dirt & grass through open fields. There will be no head-on passing. The trail is very obvious and the race course will be well marked. The terrain is a mix of crusher dust / gravel and dirt. There are wooden bridges on the course. There are no other obstacles on this route.
