Route Maps
NEW for this year, the start and finish will be on begins on Town Centre Blvd in front of Millennium Park. Runners will head north on a slight slope on Town Centre up to Apple Creek Blvd where they will turn right towards Warden Ave. On Warden, the course takes a left turn northbound up a gradual hill. Just before Carlton Rd is the 1K mark. Soon, runners reach 16th Ave where they turn right to head east and rewarded with a downhill dash passing the 2K mark. Along this stretch, runners are greeted with a hydration station. Before reaching Village Parkway, 5K runners make their turnaround before heading up the same way westbound on 16th Ave. Those who miss getting a cup of water will get another chance to pass by the water station.
Along this return stretch, runners must take heed of the vehicle access lane on their right to facilitate egress out of a neighbourhood. Staying clear of that lane would ensure everyone’s safety. Turning at Warden, it is all downhill towards the finish! At Apple Creek Blvd, the course turns right taking everyone back the same way to the Finish Line.
The start of the 10K is the same route as the 5k, however, reaching Village Parkway, 10K runners will be directed to move right on to a path that takes you into Toogood Pond Park. This scenic route descends on a paved path meandering through an urban forest and marshlands, passing the 3K mark and crossing a few bridges. Emerging into Main Street Unionville neighbourhood between the south side of Toogood Pond and Carlton Rd, runners continue on the paved park path passing Km #4. At the east end of the pond, runners will be directed to cross a bridge over the dam where they will continue along the north shore of the pond and be greeted with another Water Station (at 5K). The path continues north through the park and eventually emerges back on to 16 th Ave where runners will head straight west on the closed road. Passing Village Parkway, runners will come upon the first water station again, which now becomes the 7.5K mark. Pushing up the last hill towards Warden Ave., everyone will be rewarded with a straight downhill southbound towards the Finish. At Apple Creek Blvd, the course turns right taking everyone back the same way to the Finish Line.
