Wonder'neath Art Society

Wonder’neath is an accessible visual arts and craft centre based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax supporting community engagement through the arts, artistic expression, and creative collaboration. Wonder’neath’s core programs offer art programming for intergenerational public audiences, direct support of artists, and training and employment for artists in their field. We believe in the transformative powers of art for individuals and communities, as a tool for expression, connection, and social transformation. Wonder’neath works to shift the perception of who can be involved in the arts by offering early exposure and access to children, youth, and those facing barriers to accessing artistic programming. Through creative partnerships, inclusive programming and collaborative projects Wonder’neath explores ways to  foster self-expression, problem-solving, and collaboration. 

Since 2014, Wonder’neath has built community trust by providing consistent programming of its three core programs: Open Studio, a twice weekly, free, intergenerational art-making program; Art Bikers, a mobile community-engaged art program engaging participants in outdoor green spaces; and the Studio Artist Program, supporting artists with affordable studio rental and responsive support and mentorship. In 2025 we lauched Sketch, a library of artist sketchbooks that allow visitors to immerse themselves in artist pages and to make their mark in collaborative and personal visual storytelling .
